Time was, I would stay up late every night and have a hard time waking up in the morning. Now, in my mid-40s, I usually don’t have trouble passing out, but if I wake up in the middle of the night, all bets are off. If I can make it to the bathroom and back without having A Thought, I’ll be fine - but I’m usually very adept at having A Thought, which is quickly followed by Another, and Another, and Another…
The morning after a particularly bad bout a couple weeks back, I outlined my sleepless journey in the hopes it might make a good comic. My hope was that drawing it would help exorcise a few of my more tenacious mental demons, while providing some relatable chuckles to others similarly plagued. Whatever you do, don’t read it right before bed.

I loved this Jeff!! I’ve heard it said that sleep is more important to the human body than water or food. As in people can go longer without water and food than they can staying awake continuously. Sleep deprivation is so common and so pervasively life sucking! Happy to teach you how to do some DIY acupuncture next time I’m in town if you want. I find it helpful at least!
